The jungle was so green.
Seeing all the run down houses made me realize how good we have it in America. No one is truly poor in America. People with less money yes, poor no. I just thought the truck with the two added seats in the back was funny. Vechile safety laws are very different in Mexico...or perhaps non existent. I saw one truck that was raddling so badly I was pretty sure it was going to fall apart before it reached the end of the street.
We finally made it up the mountain to canopy zip lining place!
There were 14 different zip lines you got to go on. The longest one was a quarter mile long. We got to fly over a caynon with a river and gorgeous jungle below. On one of the zip lines nick and I went upside down. I kept thinking how fun it would be to take our kids when they get older. Cam would have died of joy to go on there. In fact I think he would have wanted to stay on and work there.
The employees were very comical. As they gave us the safety briefing they kept joking about there incompetent (acting drunk, or saying the other workers got fired and they used to work cleaning the toilets before the bosses pulled them in yesterday to work on the zip lines). At one point they even made a huge crashing sound and through down a helmet and a pant leg and shoe. You couldn't help but nervously laugh and hope they were actually experienced.
That's my friend Mel Cook. Thats the river we were flying over.
Nick and I pretending to zip line on the painting of zip lining.
We had some chicken quesadillas at a restaurant near the zip lining. Good food. The salsa was authenticly burn your tongue off spicy.
They had the cutest little marmoset near the restaurant. They gave us a cup of mango necture to feed him. We stuck our fingers in the necture and he would grab our fingers with his tiny insy little hands and lick the mango off our fingers. I almost passed out from its cuteness. Marmosets are the cutest animal on the planet!
Letter from Joan about the girls...
Hey there! Hope you are having a great time. Things continue to go well here. We played at the park yesterday, but the girls did not want to go out and play today. They wanted the iPad. They haven't been playing with it, so I let them. We are sticking to eating healthy foods and they have been eating well. Ella as been staying at the table, eating all her food! Lisey's sleep schedule seems to have at least temporarily taken a shift, at least now that she is feeling better. She will be in bed, but isn't going to sleep until 9 or later. She is also waking up by 6:45 AM. She hasn't taken a nap at all. She is just all energy. Ella has been very good about going to bed and getting up. School is going well. I'm going to finish up a few things and head to bed. Love you both!
